I'm currently in my second semester of college at the University of Georgia majoring in Journalism and International affairs. Of these two, Journalism is really my focus and within the Grady School of Journalism and Mass Communication I am strongly considering a Photojournalism focus. I guess I created this blog in part to explore a little deeper whether something like that is really for me. A large part of its appeal stems from the fact that I like to photograph everything. I may not have had the chance to shoot everything yet but you always need a goal to work toward eh?
I'd never had the opportunity to shoot a live concert before so I was excited to head down to Tastyworld, a staple of the Athens, Ga music scene, to take pictures for my friend Pholksinger Josh. Here are a few of the better ones.

A new beginning to a new year
So I finally broke down and decided to start the blog I should have begun long ago. I guess I just needed something to push me over the edge and the new camera I just bought, a Nikon D70, was exactly that something. The point of this blog, at least at first, will be to capture the amazing things going on around me here in Athens, Ga and the world as well as to provide an outlet for my writing and photography. Here are some of the images I've come up with since the new sememster has started here at UGA. If the first few weeks are any indication of things to come, this semester is going to be one to remember.
Both of these shots were taken near Stone Mountain in Georgia where I spent last Saturday on our annual Foundation Fellows winter retreat. The first image is actually of me taken be Alex, the subject of my second photograph.
This woman here has been a big part of my start to 2008. Her name is Alisa Wei and she lives a floor below me in Athens. I really like this picture but what can I say, she is easy to photograph.
This is my roommate Richard who lives with me on the third floor of Myers Hall at UGA. He is really a badass, I have to admit, always down for an adventure. I wish I could explain how I came to take these photos but since I can't I'll just leave you to consider it on your own.
A bunch of people who live in my dorms decided to spring pledge with Delta Sigma Phi. I already joined another Fraternity last semester but I decided to tag along to take some photos and of course DD.
What can you say about Lucy? I had to add this image in just because of how cool she is. Both pictures were taken on the bus on the way up to Stone Mountain.
Well that it for now. I hope you like the photos, they should just keep getting better.
